i have a question i need answered. i have a domain name through Xisto - Web Hosting right now. now that mycents and the converted earnings are connected now with Xisto - Web Hosting, would that domain be renewed automatically? or are the hosting accounts renewed automatically if you have enough funds in your mycents or do you have to reorder to pay for another year?reason why i ask is that i don't want my domain renewed with the credits i have automatically so if it is automatic, what do i have to do to cancel any order? also i thought i heard someone say that if you have enough mycents or converted credits actually, orders would be automatic and deducted directly through your credit account.

Well I have been gone for a couple months and wow alot of changes, I have been reading up on the new mycents and I think its a great idea, I believe I ahve myself already all sigend up for it, I cant wait to get unsuspended and get back up and running very interested in seeing the changes and Im almost there. Anyway Nice job on the new setup Sounds great!!

I kind of missed the last few days in Xisto and so many things have changed. I will consider the change is for good.So... now the credit stuff will be closed shortly and we will be moving to myCents. That much i understood.

All i need to know is...
I have a free web hosting account in Xisto. Do i have to register for that again once the credit system expires?
Only now, I registered myself in https://support.xisto.com/ and after reading the forums, I came to know how it works. I think that will get linked to my Xisto account in few hours and i will start accumulating myCents....

HOw easy it is to start over again? - I mean the switching and stuff without my site going down for long?
Do i have to make any changes in DNS and stuff when this transition happens? The whole point is that... these days I am spending less and less time here and do not want to go through the hassle. Hope they make it easier for the members who already have an hosting account. From the record, I believe they will do so...

Also.. I think this is very cool, as more things can be done using the cents i earn... which was not possible using the credits earned.
Thanks Xisto for all you do and for the great ideas. You rock.

Well if you haven't moved your hosting account to the new system by the time the MyCents is permanent then you have to re-register your hosting account from scratch, meaning that you will lose everything once hosting credits is turned off. So as long as you have registered on Xisto - Support then you will be able to start earning MyCents and then when you have the right amount of money for what you need then just order your package and then in a few days your account will be updated if your hosted under the new system and expect to wait a bit longer if you are not.

It is easy because all that is being done is a small update to your account and so you will not suffer any down time as long as you match what your new account has to what your old account is using right now. When ordering your hosting package you have the options of getting a new domain, transferring your name or updating the name servers and if you have a Xisto domain or a TLD just select the third option and your set. The ordering process is easy its deciding what you want in your hosting package that is difficult :) and yeah thanks to the new MyCents a lot more options have been giving to us members and so we can make are website much bigger instead of making it limited under the old plans.

I do believe when it comes time to renew your hosting you have to do it manually like you would do if your paying for it and you do bring up a good suggestion of maybe adding a auto-payment for mycents and that way you don't have to worry about paying for it as long as you have the funds for it.

well i was against it for my domain so i didn't bring that up haha but yea, i agree, i think that would be a nifty little option.

@OpaQue... I have to admit the new system sounds a lot better then the old one, but from my experience it is a lot harder to get 1 day of hosting. For a post I did on the old system I would have gotten points for at least a month and a half or two. On the new system I got points for a little more then half a month. Is it something planned? Because is sure making life a lot more difficult. What hits me is the fact that if you double the size of a post you don't get double the amount of points - which kind of promotes spaming. I make one maybe 2 very long posts on a weekly basis so this system really disadvantages me.PS: I have to admit I got ~24 $ right from the beginning for I am a very old member with quite a few posts. But once those will be out (in a year or so) I will have a very difficult time to keep my hosting.

Mr Inviso

I have to admit this forum is great. As for those who have a problem with your myCENT earnings. Maybe your posts aren't filled with enough quality content. Remember that Content is King! I find trying to help out others as I have been helped is a big motivator. Good luck, good posting and good night.

Please refer to these two topics adriantc about the MyCent losses and how to recover them.

Sorry if this is mentioned previous in this thread, but are we allowed to have affiliates? And if so I am sure there are some special rules for this? I think I remember that links like that are not allowed here at Trap, so how are the rules?

Yes you can have affiliates but it would defeat the purpose of posting your referral link on the forums, the most common way is to add the link into the search engines and of course give them to people you know who are looking for hosting.

This confuses me greatly :S None of my post seam to gain me any credits? Should I not get some for posting? I have to say the old system was alot simpilar 0.o.

You need to first register an account at https://support.xisto.com/

make sure the email that you use on that account is the same as your Xisto email. Once you have done that, wait a little bit and then all post will be transfered into mycent :)

I wish we could delete our posts. Sorry about this, the dude above already replied. :)

Hi to every1 I am alot of confused although the forum is great but i am having difficulty finding the hosting credit on my forum index page.....Can you some1 please show me the exact location where can i find the hosting credits part.....And also i wanted to know that hosting credit and my cent are same or different and if different where is hosting credit amount located.....I was able to find myCENT but no hosting credit..

xpress

Hosting credits were used for hosting here. It is no more. myCents is the latest version of those hosting credits. Thats why no credits display at index page. Forget about them. Just concentrate on earning more myCents. You'll earn myCents for your posts. And post count doesn't matter here. Big posts earn more myCents and small posts less. So start posting. You can use your myCents to buy hosting or domains. :P

Xalor

How much myCents do you get per post or per topic, is it based on words?

rvalkass

It is based on how long your posts are and the quality of your posts. For example, one post of 100 words is better than 5 posts of 20 words. There are some sections of the forums that don't earn myCENTs, and these are clearly marked. Also, your myCENTs can take a few hours to update after you make a post, so don't be worried if they don't instantly appear.

lonebyrd

Does it just appear on the Xisto page or is shown on the trap 17 page somewhere?

Zeyomie

On your profile and when you post down there in red it shows your mycents, now if you get over 100 mycents it sends $1 to your xisto account, and shows your total earnings in green above your mycents when you post. Of course, if you use any of your earnings it doesn't always show whats in your xisto account, just how much you've earned in total. For example, mine says I've earned $8, but I only have $6 in my account because I purchased hosting already. I hope that helps Lonebyrd.edited typos
