Some New Doubt Before Ordering My Host.......

Recommended Posts

Hello every 1 again >>>>

I know i am here after a short interval but my final exams are going on and so i can't give much time to my PC activities.....

This time i have a question that if by chance after ordering the hosting and domain i get a warning due to some reason then is there going to be any effect on my hosting and domain....

The domain purchased from xisto can be used with any host or only with the xisto hosting......

Is there any linux hosting plane which offers free domain......

Which is the best hosting shared one or the dedicated one or vps one? and what is the main difference between them...

What is the meaning of

5 GB Corporate Mail Hosting - Hosted on Cluster *FREE!*

Powerful Round Robin DNS - *FREE!*

Wild-Card Sub-Domain Setup - *FREE!*

And what are they perticularly used for..............

It says "Shell Access - On Request" and "On-Demand Backup Weeky Database Backup" in logic pro plane does that charge or it is free.........

And 1 last question

In the ideal plane does all the above asked featured enabled specially the wild-card sub-domain setup 1............

The domain you purchase can be used with any host, as long as you point the nameservers in the right direction.

I know they sometimes offer free domains, but I don't think they have a free domain offer right now.

Dedicated hosting is the best you can get. It is obviously a lot more expensive and really meant for sites that are very high demand and such. VPS is the next step down, it is like a virtual server. It can support high demand and a lot of traffic for a good price. Shared hosting is multiple sites on one server. Resources are divided. This is usually used by most people. For 99% of this community this will be the option that is the most viable. It is very well priced and more than we need, usually.

Shell access is access to the server through an internet connection. It is different than FTP in that it lets you control the server. By adding on request to that, they are saying you need to purchase it. I think it is a $.99 addon to the hosting plans (might come with the ideal plan by default). On-demand backups are done through cPanel, usually. You just tell it to generate a backup and it does it and puts it in the home directory. It should be free.

I do not entirely understand your last question. If you are wondering if it also includes all of the features the others do, in terms of the Linux Shared hosting plans - yes, it doe, with unlimited everything. And if by the last part you mean "especially the wild-card sub-domain setup", then they do support that.

Keep in mind with at least the shared hosting plans (I don't know about the dedicated and VPS plans), you need to buy an email addon which varies from around $11/yr to $60+/yr depending on storage and number of email accounts. If you don't want the email, you can use an external service. You can also use Google Apps and do email through there.

I hope that answers all of your questions.

A warning stops your myCENTs being added to your billing account, so a warning will only affect you if your hosting/domain is up for renewal and you don't already have enough in your billing account to cover the invoice.

The domain purchased from xisto can be used with any host or only with the xisto hosting......

The domain can be used anywhere. You can set the nameservers to anything you like, although they are defaultly configured to point to Xisto's nameservers.

Is there any linux hosting plane which offers free domain......

You can purchase Linux hosting a domain separately. Or you can order the Ideal plan, which includes a free domain if paid yearly (or every two years).

Which is the best hosting shared one or the dedicated one or vps one? and what is the main difference between them...

Shared hosting gives you a set of limited shared resources on a server, shared among many other people. Limits are usually set for things like space, MySQL databases, bandwidth per month, etc. A dedicated server is a whole computer to yourself. You are only limited by the physical hardware in the machine. A VPS (virtual private server) is usually a partition or virtual machine on a physical server, which appears to you like a separate machine. You are still limited in resources, although the limits are high, but you can usually install modules and software that you require.

5 GB Corporate Mail Hosting - Hosted on Cluster *FREE!*

This is email hosting, hosted on a dedicated cluster of email servers.

Powerful Round Robin DNS - *FREE!*

This is a method of load balancing and fault tolerance. With every request to your website, rather than a singe IP address being returned, a list of IP addresses are returned where the website/FTP/email/whatever can be accessed, with the list being rotated by one IP address each time it is used. This balances load across many servers and is more fault-tolerant than a single IP address.

Wild-Card Sub-Domain Setup - *FREE!*

You can access *.yoursite.tld and usually serve specific pages depending on the subdomain used. This is easier than individually configuring the subdomains, and allows them to change automatically (as they don't actually exist, they're just parsed by a script).

Shell Access - On Request

Shell access is access to the console/command line for your hosting account. It is sometimes needed for certain installations, although most people can do without it. I believe it is made available on request to the support department if you have a valid reason for it.

On-Demand Backup Weeky Database Backup

In your cPanel you have access to a backup system, which you can use to make a backup of your site whenever you want, and have the backup saved on the server, or transferred by FTP to another server.

The server admins take a weekly backup of the databases, so that if any problems occur they can restore the backup. These are all provided for free.

In the ideal plane does all the above asked featured enabled specially the wild-card sub-domain setup 1............

I'm not sure. Send a support ticket to the Sales department and they will get back to you on exactly what is included. I would imagine it is, but just check to be on the safe side.

With the wild card support that feature you need to send in a support ticket for that to be enabled since it isn't a normal feature that I have seen in the hosting packages. Other then that everything above is pretty much correct about what is included in the hosting package that you are looking at.
