yea i think php safe is enabled as its some thing common and every hosting company should provide but about SmartFoxServerLite i am not sure .You can try submitting a ticket anywaysbut there are more features which this host provides and is unique

I think shared hosting will not support this. You need to choose either VPS service or dedicated service. So you need to create suppport ticket and ask the team about support for ffmpeg. As far as i know ffmpeg softwares are not supported in shared hosting. I asked this question earlier and i found that shared hosting don't have some ffmpeg features enabled. For more information you need to contact support team and they'll set this up for you.

Something to add on.. When you inquire make sure you are getting enough space and bandwidth too. Not enough of either of these will bottleneck your VPS or dedicated server.

PHP safe mode is not enabled. It is better if it is not enabled, at least for developers—less things get in the way if it is disabled.

What's the difference? I never understood what it really meant but a lot of hosts use that as a selling point. I assumed if it was enabled it would be safer for your site as there would be less exploitable openings or something.

Safe mode places restrictions or disables certain functions from being executed. A lot of these functions concern basic file management functions, along with many others. This can cause file upload scripts and flat-file based scripts from properly working or from even working at all. There are many ways around PHP's safe mode, therefore technically providing a false sense of security. Safe mode has been deprecated in PHP 5.3 and has been (will be) removed for PHP 6. Relying on PHP's safe mode may merely put you behind.

As far as i know Xisto is on shared server. Program like smartfox will not get enough support and resources to work. And if your site with smartfox uses larger resources and affects performance of other sites in shared network then chances are it will be either moved to another server or will be suspended. Xisto - Support will give exact answer regarding this program,whether it is supported or not.

In my opinion, if you choose CH unlimited plan or MiniVPS, or dedicated plan. Then you are allowed to use almost any ffmpeg/media based applications. Besides that shared hosting is not for ffmpeg applications (my personal experience from hosting applications like phpmotion/beatz).

According to the first website I found for "SmartFoxServerLite", these are the requirements:

The server minimum requirements are a 300Mhz CPU with 64Mb of RAM and an operating system capable of running the Java runtime 1.4 such as Windows, Linux, MacOS X (10.3 or higher)

The CPU and RAM requirements are easily surpassed by the server, but where you may have a problem is with running the Java runtime environment. On shared hosting I am not sure if you can run Java in that way. On a dedicated server or VPS you would very likely be able to, but I'm not sure a shared hosting account would let you.

Yeah, the support team should be able to offer you an exact answer as to whether that will run on the servers. I'm pretty sure that shared hosting won't let you run the JRE required to run that software, but you can ask anyway. A VPS or dedicated server would let you run the JRE (as far as I know) but are a lot more expensive.
