This Is The Best Free Webhosting! This is better than the best.

Recommended Posts

Hey all you guys must be supporting for Xisto right, ok even I do. But guess what I found a better host, much, much better than Xisto. No need posting, no ads and a guranteed 100% uptime. I have not seen this host go down atlest once. Check out their features

3000 MB Disk Space
50 GB Web Traffic
Unlimited email accounts
Unlimited number of MySQL, MSSQL databases
FTP / FTPS, WebFTP, unlimited number of FTP accounts
Technical support
Support for ASP, ASP.NET and PHP languages
Daily System Backup
Traffic and Web Statistics
Unique Online Administration
Linux/Windows Hosting
And more...

There is a catch! :P You need to own a ICANN and NIC supported domain, I mean not like those free domins like the .tk and .co.nr service, ya but the .be will do. This host is just amazing people!

I just need one promise from all of you. Even if you leave Xisto you will promise me that you will be an active member at the forum, just like me! ;)

Here is the link to that great free web host.

Not bad - but as a die-hard Linux guy, when it comes to all things related to network services.. I'd never trust it for even a second, coz it runs on Windows 2003. It might be the host of your choice though - since you seem to be in eternal love with Windows... :P

And oh, there's more to that.. I gave their site a trial registration. First and foremost.. very poorly designed activation page. Upon registration, it sent me this activation email. When I clicked on that - it took me to this entirely blank page - with a short line right in the center saying , Your account has been activated .. That was about it.. no links nothing.. none that I could use to get back to the main page and login.

Also I couldn't find any option of Shell login - which is a real pain in the wrong place if you ask me.

Ganesh.. Look before you leap .. that's all i gotta say..

Hey man, you did not look at it completely, you dont have to register a domain with them, you just need to have a domain thats it. Click on the "manage sites" on the left side navigation, add your sites domain, now just change your domains pointing name servers and thats it my friend. You have gotta a completely free web host. Nothing more, nothing less, just free!I would say that you better read their FAQ before you post anymore here.

I mean to say that you should have a domain registered with some registar OR you can register with them too. If you dont have a domain, then this host is a complete waste. And by the way they offer both Linux or Windows hosting. Diffrence is you have ASP, ASP.NET and ASP.NET2 on the windows hosting but you will lack these in the linux hosting.

Oh thanks for letting me know that ASP.NET can be written for linux servers too. I dont find any harm hosting on an IIS server. Is it gonna kill you? The servers are well maintained and guarded. So whats the problem with that host, its good and surely better than Xisto if it were not for its *pre* registered domain rule. M^E you will have to admit its better. (Dont ban me for this!)

Well, I have to say that I've never trusted anyone who offers something that costs money and effort for free. Yes, even if it's done in good faith. Because, realistically, at some point or another, offers like that will HAVE TO either discontinue their services or ask for money in return. That's the way the world works, and there's no denying that.

Anyway, I tried to poke around a bit to find out why they're offering free hosting, and I found that in their FAQ:

Why do you offer freehosting?

We want to give our customers professional webhosting services and technical support.

Hmmm... Not the most satisying answer if you ask me.

If I had to guess, the reason they're offering free hosting is that they want people to purchase domain names from them... now THAT I can understand, and I think of it as good business sense. Doteasy.com has been doing that for years, and they've been doing it very nicely. Unfortunately, Freewebdot.com doesn't state this as the reason, which I think is a bad business move... I think a company should ALWAYS be honest with their customers, and expect their customers to be mature enough to know that nothing comes for free.

Anyway, I did join them to find out the extent of their services, and to make sure whether I can use my own domain names, or I have to register one through them.

First of all, their registration form is really not that good. They require that you provide two lines of mailing address AND a fax number. That's either a stretch or bad programming.

Secondly, they require Billing Information right off the bat, even though I never agreed to purchase anything through them. And for some reason, they kept refusing my phone number, even though it was perfectly valid. I thought about using a fake number, but then decided it obviously wasn't worth the trouble.

Bottom line is, I seriously don't think this offer is worth it. They don't seem to offer cPanel (or any other type of control panel for that matter)... the sign-up process was problematic right off that bat... the offer itself IS too good to be true, since even if they make money out of domain name registrations, it doesn't justify the expenses of hosting... and finally, there are many hosting providers that are far better than this one is... I find the hosting services offered by Xisto corp., both the free and the paid, are basically the best I've ever seen online for such measle fees.

Cheers.

Well, if he does, I'll sure stand against him :D... lol.

But thanks for the review anyway, ganeshn11.

Cheers.

Well I really dont know why this registration problem is happening with you. I registered two times, once for myself and once for my academy. Both of the times it went smooth and no problems at all. I dont know the problem with what is happening with you.

All that space is making me dizzy :D Even though many people must be impressed by this offer, I find it repulsive. Why? Well, you see, if I moved to that host, I would probably have a lot problems synchronizing everything. What's more important, I wouldn't benefit at all, since I'm only using 40MB out of 150MB here at Xisto. That goes for the BW, too. Then again, Xisto requires posting, whereas this one doesn't. But think of all the people that would register there and use a lot of space. How would the host afford it? Sooner or later they would require you to pay or something. Xisto has a great system, and they are able to maintain it because there are only 103 hosted members! People find it difficult to post, so they quit. However, I enjoy posting, because I've noticed that my post quality has improved a lot since I started posting here. So it's not just a hosting service, it also makes people write quality posts.Thank you for your time :P

indead pyost! i'm not at 10cred yet but i'll be glad when i reach there. i am into free things so i'm not gonna pay for a .com or anything like that. this is just right for me. o and it would be much appreciated if someone could give me one or two credits :D but you don't have to. it's just i want to be able to get my site underway.

It is just a way off getting the members in and let them build there precius sites.. then when everything is running like a charm they say they cant afford it anymore and ask everybody to pay up.. most will leave but they few that stay will make it worthwhile.

coz it runs on Windows 2003

yulch.... :D count me out! I'd NEVER use a Windows host for 1 reason: Windows is NOT secure, even behind a firewall. Ok... I take that back... my school's website is hosted on a Windows NT IIS4 (or 3) server. It's terrible even if we do have 100% uptime. 1) Windows is NOT flexible 2) Limited support 3) Too many security holes... and our server is on a network that has all sorts of goodies (grades, attendance, and such for 10+ member schools!!).. what breaks my heart is that there is only 1 UNIX (not sure if it is Unix or Linux) server in the entire place!!

Linux is always better over Windows hosting, unless you like the stupid ASP language. PHP is much better. When looking for a host, a Linux host with 98% uptime is more appealing to me than a Windows host with 100% uptime.
