An old dream. A lot of people spend time trying to use it. Your personal space ongoogle, available anywhere, from any browser. Docs, pictures, what you want.
See here : https://drive.google.com/

Google Drive is everywhere you are—on the web, in your home, at the office and on the go. So wherever you are, your stuff is just...there. Ready to go, ready to share. Get started with 5 GB free.

Looks very nice. And on your own PC you can install the google drive API for more copy-paste file transfers. Personally I'm not very interested by installing the API, I preferthe "from any PC" feature.

I am using amazon cloud storage for more than two years and it is working fine for me. I don't think i am going to switch to google drive just out of hype. I have 2 GB storage though it is low compared to the google drive but most of my blog backups are done from the wordpress to amazon using the plugin and this is the feature i am happy with. I don't need desktop storage because it is hardly any useful for me. I am sure it is going to be useful for others.I also have microsoft skydrive account where i have mostly the doc files from the office live website. As the office live website allows less features compared to the google docs for output, my personal opinion is still to go with google docs. It just works irrespective of the browser and also it is good for exporting. I don't know it has good support for openoffice for excel or slideshow formats.I am sure they are going to open android store app too. This is because people will bring more and more files to their drive. That way soon they are going to get more customers too. Also the high space range in next queue is at 25GB for say 30 bucks a year. I think it is profitable too many users. So not a bad deal from google this time.

Those who want to compare the cloud drive storage with other competitors can see the new article on the lifehacker. That is a good review for those who are new to the cloud storage and wants to use the cloud for their blogs backup. I think it is better to see if any of these cloud storage has a wordpress plugin. I know that amazon, jungledisk, rackspace and box, dropbox have the plugin. I am not sure about the other sites.

You can check the chart for the current rates and service features here.

That said there is also another article on the guardian on the cloud storage drives. This comparison is limited for the top brands. You don't see the spideroak and some other startup based companies over there. I found spider oak another good service for the storage. They have a good storage service and the customer service. Compared to the google and microsoft, they have much responsive staff.

I just want to see if there is any wordpress plugin for the google drive. And that way i can take the backup of the blog or othre minor files onto the google storage. I already do this with the amazon cloud storage but that said i don't think i need one more service for the backup as i struggle with one service already.
